The Launch of Badger Farm Chat-Tea Café – A Resounding Success
Our first Chat-Tea Café was held on Monday 28 January at Badger Farm Community Centre and we are totally astounded and thrilled at it’s massive success. Around 50 people arrived to enjoy free tea, cake and chat.
Huge thanks go to all the volunteers who worked so tirelessly to make the afternoon such a spectacular success and our thanks also go to all the folk who came along! At one point we thought we would run out of tables but everybody was accommodated and sat enjoying tea and the most delicious and varied assortment of home made cakes from chocolate sponge, Victoria sandwich, cupcakes, shortbread, lemon drizzle and so much more! There were plenty of calls for second helpings!
There are so many people who worked so hard to make this, our very first independent event, the enormous triumph it was! Special thanks must go to Jane from Sainsbury’s who was so generous to us with donations and just look at the fantastic cake made by one of our volunteers! Here’s to the next one!
Enormous thanks to all, bakers, servers, washeruppers and chatters as well as to the Mayor of Winchester who thoroughly enjoyed the event. We all look forward to seeing you at the next Chat-Tea Café on Monday 25th February!
The Chat-Tea Café is totally run by volunteers for everyone in the community to enjoy, get involved and feel part of. If you know of a neighbour who is a little lonely from time to time that you could bring along just turn up on the day. You are guaranteed a warm welcome!
