Spring 2026 Edition

Spring 2026 is here (Finally!) Celebrating Community groups and events with a few thoughts for the better weather the Spring 2026 edition of Community News can be downloaded to enjoy it at your leisure.
This edition captures the anniversary excitement as Chat-Tea Cafe celebrated its 7th birthday with an abundance of cake, singing, and a loud hurrah from everyone gathered when the Mayor ceremonially cut the iconic “7”-shaped birthday cake (p.1).
We have also asked everyone to keep Saturday, 22nd August, free to help celebrate the Community Centre’s 40th Anniversary (p.2). More details will be shared on our website, social media channels, and in the next edition of Community News.
The amazing Tidy Badger Farm volunteer group reports on its activities (p.11). These dedicated volunteers selflessly clear litter that has been carelessly discarded around the area once a month. Why not join them for a chat, get some steps in, and make a visible difference to Badger Farm? Our thanks go to this truly unsung group of local heroes.
Take a moment to pause, reflect, and discover what a simple bench can provide in an inspiring feature on page 11. If the weather turns wet, you may wish to settle down and read about St Swithin—though hopefully we won’t be facing 40 days of rain! Alternatively, those rainy moments could be put to good use by tidying up your computer with some excellent advice from Winchester Computer Tutor (p.19).
Finally, for those who remember Magpie, Wendy Bramall has brought the ryhme to life with crocuses and an oak tree as spring begins to stretch its wings across the months ahead (p.20).
Read these stories and much more in the full downloadable edition.
