Oliver’s Battery 2023 Easter Egg Hunt
Get ready for the Oliver’s Battery 2023 Easter Egg Hunt!
Following the enjoyment had by over 150 participants last year, there will be another Easter Egg Hunt Event this Easter Sunday, 9 April 2023, from 12.30pm to 5.00pm. the hunt will start and finish at St Marks Hall, Oliver’s Battery, Winchester. All ages are welcome and all can take part! Many three-generation families took part last year.

This is an on-foot fun event for people to walk round Olivers Battery Civil Parish and log some clues on the way. All entrants will receive an “Easter Egg” on completion.
The Easter Egg hunt will be on several levels:
- Infants on Oliver’s Battery Green (shape & colour recognition, school year up to Y2 & accompanied)
- Junior (school years Y3-Y6, accompanied) challenge in the areas surrounding Oliver’s Battery Green
- 3k Urban and 5k Urban/Rural Easter Egg Hunts using paper maps
- New for this year, two (one a fun & the other a timed 45-minute score orienteering version) 5k routes using the MapRun6 Phone App*
All the various course routes will be new for 2023.
Note: For the 5k Open Events expect to cover around 6km to collect ALL the clues/controls and for the 5k MapRun 45-minute and Fun Events expect to cover around 9km to collect ALL the clues/controls (more of a strategic time/distance event).
Recognising also that there will be those who may wish for a more athletic pace, there will be trophies for the fastest completions in the Junior, 3k & 5k events as well. Points need prizes!
There is no mass start and families can participate in more than one of these ‘on foot’ events if they wish.
