HIWWT illustrated talk: Chalk Streams in Wessex
We’re delighted that Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust are coming back the Community Centre for their first meeting in three years. On Thursday 23 March, join Dave Rumble, CEO of Wessex Rivers Trust, for a look at a world-class habitat type in his talk on chalk streams in Wessex. Hear about the wealth of wildlife associated with our chalk streams, as well as the pressing threats they face. Explore some key restoration projects, from rewilding to major engineering works. He will take us on an illustrated tour of the Wessex Rivers Trust river restoration work, comparing “before” and “after” work. This ranges from re-wilding the head waters through to major engineering works and includes the restoration work on our local river Itchen.
How to book
