Cycle Winchester Mass Ride 8
September update
Sadly, Cycle Winchester have had to postpone the Mass Ride 8 on 28 September due to organisational issues. The team is currently hatching plans for a 2025 Mass Ride in late spring or early summer.
Mass Ride information
Everyone is welcome to join the Cycle Winchester Mass Ride 8 on 28 September. The more diverse the riders, bikes, ages and outfits the better! All you need is a working bike that you can happily steer, brake and pedal the length of your chosen route at a slow-medium pace. The ride will take place on open roads, but there will be experienced cyclists marshalling the group for safety.
Start locations and routes for 2024 are being finalised, but you should expect feeder rides to start at around 10am, converging on the city centre at 10.30am for a massed procession around the one-way system, reaching Abbey Gardens a little after 11am. In previous years, feeder rides have picked up from Harestock, Weeke, Kings Worthy, Headbourne Worthy, Abbots Barton, Highcliffe, Badger Farm and Stanmore, with a longer ride coming in from Colden Common and Twyford. Check Cycle Winchester nearer the time for full details of meeting times and locations.
The ride ends with refreshments in Abbey Gardens, a mini bike-fest and kids activities, and a chance to socialise and share experiences of the ride. If the weather looks good, maybe bring a picnic too!
