Winchester Green Week 2022: An invitation to get involved

Winchester Green Week 2022 will run from 24 September to 2 October. Green Week has become an annual festival to celebrate and promote a sustainable future. Last year 45 organisations put on over 60 events. The organisers, Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis (WinACC), estimate around 8000 people were reached. They are now inviting you to get involved in this year’s festival.
How might you get involved in Winchester Green Week 2022?
Could a group you are part of put on an event? The strapline this year is “A greener future for us all” and there will be three streams:
Think tank
For talks/learning/questions/debates.
Art House
For creative, artistic, poetry, drama/music response to the issues.
Activate
Events that involve doing, taking action, making, joining a campaign etc.
Groups that are currently planning something include Churches Together in Winchester, Winchester Cathedral, Winchester City Council, Winchester BID, Learning Through Landscapes, Mimosa Montessori, Winchester Action on the Climate Crisis, Paris Smith, Winchester School of Art.
Spread the word about your event
WinACC will publicise your event in their programmes. The deadline for information to go in a printed programme is August 19th (but earlier would be better). There will also be an online programme.
Send the following information to winchestergreenweek@gmail.com to be included.
- Name of the event
- The date, time and location
- How to find out more details (e.g. email address/eventbrite booking link etc)
- Your organisation
- An image or your logo if possible
If you need a venue, the Cathedral, the ARC (the library on Jewry Street) and Unit 12 (the community centre in Winnall) have all offered space.
If you want more information or to chat ideas through, please contact the team of volunteers who coordinate Winchester Green Week: Jo, Anna, Stu, Sarah, Mary, Clare, Jenny, Janet and Sue.
