Community Centre Makeover
Exciting Upgrades at Your Local Community Centre!
The heart of our community just got a fresh new look! Our much-loved Community Centre has had a makeover with some fantastic improvements, making it an even better space for local residents to enjoy.
One of the biggest changes is the installation of acoustic panels in the Battery Sports Hall. Say goodbye to echoing voices – this upgrade makes the space more welcoming and enjoyable for all. Alongside this, we’ve rolled out enhanced WiFi throughout the entire building, ensuring seamless connectivity for all our visitors.

We’ve removed the old bar from the Warren, creating an enhanced and more versatile space for events and activities. Both the Battery and the Warren have also been redecorated, giving them a fresh and inviting feel. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our hirers for their patience and understanding during the renovation process. A huge shout-out also goes to our dedicated suppliers for working swiftly to bring these improvements to life.
Looking for a space to hire?
We still have some regular hire slots available, and we’re open for weekend events such as children’s parties and meetings. Conveniently located and with parking available at Sainsbury’s, our centre already offers a wide range of events and classes for all ages and interests.
We take great pride in supporting community initiatives like the Repair Café Winchester and Chat-Tea Café, providing a space for residents to come together and connect.
Community outreach
We continue to provide the much-loved Community News magazine for Badger Farm and Oliver’s Battery parishes. Full of local news and events, it is well worth a read.
As a self-sustaining charity with no external funding to keep us running, we rely on our hire income to do so. We’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to help fundraise, create and run community events. Additionally, we are seeking new trustees to assist with the strategic management and future growth of the Centre. Want to get involved? Get in touch today and be part of something truly special in your community!
Whether as new users or volunteers we look forward to welcoming you to the Centre.
