In the Winter 2013 edition we find out that the Warm up Winchester Campaign is designed to promote ECO funding in the Winchester District to get people access to heating systems and insulation at low or no cost.

Oliver’s Battery Parish Council talks about planning for winter. The Oliver’s Battery Parish Magazine has been well received; in future editions they are to keen to provide some information about the links that Oliver’s Battery had during World War 1, in conjunction with the 100 years commemoration in 2014. Plans to improve St. Mark’s Parish Hall are under discussion.

Over the past few months it’s been all go in Oliver’s Battery WI, with more new members; a theatre trip to see Evita; good speakers both
in our WI as well as in the Winchester Group; a fancy breadmaking demonstration – and tasting of course! As well as joining in on events
run by the Hampshire Federation, which included workshops making Etui Boxes there was the Federation’s Autumn Meeting at the Anvil in Basingstoke to hear Dame Jenni Murray. We are now looking forward to more good speakers, a theatre trip to see War Horse in the
spring and the revival of the popular New Year’s Eve Stagger – a safari supper to beat all suppers.
