Winchester NCT Nearly New Sale Spring 2025
Save the date
Join us for the spring National Childbirth Trust (NCT) Winchester & District Nearly New Sale on Sunday 11 May 2025, 1–5pm at Badger Farm Community Centre, Winchester (NCT members have early access at 12:45), kindly sponsored by 2Spots Ceramics, Baby Squids, Dybles Estate Agents, The Breaker Collective and The Natal Clinic.
A proportion of the income generated from selling items goes directly to the local NCT branch and helps the charity to support parents, fund helplines and offer local services such as baby first aid courses, breastfeeding support, a reusable nappy library and baby bundles for local parents in need. Nearly New Sales are a fantastic opportunity for buyers to pick up excellent quality-controlled ‘nearly new’ baby and child clothing and equipment at fantastic prices – at the last sale, over 5000 items were up for grabs!

The great thing about our NCT Nearly New Sale is that it’s a ticketed ‘sorted’ sale, not a tabletop sale. All items are organized into categories for ease of shopping; toys are together and clothes are sorted by age and type, giving a department store-style shopping experience. Cots and moses baskets are in one place, and so on. It’s definitely not like a jumble sale – it’s cashless and there are even tills at the exit to pay for shopping all together, just like a high street shop.
Nearly New Sales are our biggest fundraising events of the year but they cannot happen without your support. If you have an attic full of preloved items, have you thought about selling them to raise funds for charity and be more eco-friendly at the same time? Anyone can sell at the Nearly New Sale; you don’t have to be a member of the NCT. Sellers are charged a small registration fee and commission for having goods sold for them by the local volunteer team. These fees go towards the work of the NCT, including the local community branch and essential national services.
Sellers price and label all items at home and drop them off at the start of the day of the sale at the community centre; any unsold items are collected after the sale has ended. There’s no need to worry about displaying or haggling, and no need to stay all day – our team of volunteers will do the rest. Places fill up quickly so it’s best to register early – seller spaces for the last two sales sold out!

The sale is run entirely by helpers, so volunteering really does make a difference to the success of the day and to the money that the branch makes for future activity. A small organizing committee and a large team of 40 on-the-day volunteers work together to set up the event, so we’re really grateful for all offers to help out. Helping on the day gives the benefit of early access shopping as well as priority seller booking and reduced commission on any items you’re selling – plus, it’s a great way to meet other local parents! You don’t have to be an NCT member to volunteer, and it’s great fun helping at the sale and doing your bit to help support parents both locally and nationally.
If you’d like to get involved, you can find out more and register to volunteer here.
