The UK’s leading dementia support charity

The logo for the Alzheimer's Society with the word Leading the fight against dementia.
The Alzheimer’s Society’s vision is a world without dementia. They focus on all forms of the condition, not just Alzheimer’s. As well as investing in world-class research, they provide information and support for those living with dementia and for their carers, family and friends. Through the Live at Home scheme, the society offers lunch clubs, activity days, advice sessions, exercise classes and much more.

“At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins. We are here for anyone affected by dementia, and we do everything we can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.” – About the Alzheimer’s Society.

Local support

In our area, the Alzheimer’s Society runs an Activity Club every Friday morning from 10.00am until 12.30pm at the Badger Farm Community Centre. A facilitator encourages and supports people to take part. Clients with dementia are invited to enjoy organised therapeutic activities. Carers may use a different area of the venue to chat and support one another.
